The halfway point for 2018 has come and gone. How is that even possible? Regardless of how crazy that seems, it happened and it is an excellent opportunity to take stock of how the year is going. If you are like me and many others, you probably set some goals for yourself way back in January. Remember those? It is time to revisit them and see what you have accomplished and what might need a little more effort. To get yourself in the mood, check out 5 Essential Oils for Goal Setting. Apply or diffuse any of the five, or mix them together with fractionated coconut oil to make our Rock Your Goals Roller Bottle Blend.

Review Your Goals

Whether you had one goal or 20, find your list, file, or mental note and go over each one. Ask yourself a few questions. Have you accomplish the goal? If not, have you made progress? Is it still important to you? Was it a S.M.A.R.T. goal? (Specific, Measurable, Actionable, Realistic, Time-bound)

Make Adjustments

Be honest with yourself about how your goals are going and make some adjustments if necessary. You might want to scale them back or get rid of some entirely. And don’t beat yourself up about it. If you planned to read 100 books this year, but are on track to read 50 instead, go ahead and change that goal to 50 or maybe 52 if you want to push yourself a little. A book a week is pretty amazing. Either way, think of all the joy, knowledge, and insight you are getting out of the books you are reading. That’s what really matters, isn’t it?

Recommit

Now that you have reviewed and adjusted, you need to recommit to your goals and objectives. They should be more realistic now since you have evaluated them six months in and made some adjustments and course corrections.

Repeat

Check in on your goals again sooner rather than later. After all, you are already over six months into the year. I suggest going through this process again in about 60 days. Minor course corrections on a regular basis tend to yield substantial results.

Remember, goals and resolutions are really about progressing and moving forward in life. Even if it takes a little longer than planned or you don’t end up exactly where you intended, just keep at it! You will not regret it.

Live Vibrantly.
