Ever since I was a little girl I knew I wanted to help people.
Science also fascinated me, as did the miracle of the human body. So it seemed like a no-brainer that I would one day become a nurse. And immediately after high school, that’s exactly what I did – I got my Nursing license and started working in 1997.
And it didn’t disappoint! I loved the thrill of working with the doctors and treating different patients, each with their own special needs. It was dynamic, and I loved the challenge of adapting my workflow on-the-go as it kept me on my toes and in focus.
I especially loved working with pediatricians and the babies and children in their care – I loved having such an important role in nurturing and healing them. I felt lucky to be working in a job I loved, and to come home at the end of the day tired, but fulfilled.
But during the last two years of my career, I was slowly being torn on the inside.
Pharmaceuticals, office politics, manager meetings with graphs of “quotas”, prescription abuse and overuse, ridiculous insurance companies and not much in the way of natural solutions or prevention. I could go on and on. This list is just the beginning. This takes the heart out of nursing!
And if that wasn’t enough, I was beginning to resent the same career I fell in love with, because the crazy hours and demanding shifts were preventing me from spending precious time with my growing family.
Nursing and I were starting to grow apart.
But then there was the straw that broke this nursing mom’s back: Day in and day out I saw troubled parent after troubled parent walk in and out with prescriptions in hand. Prescriptions they might not have needed for those sniffles, coughs and colds, whose symptoms I know I can ease with pure, natural essential oils.
In between the conventional health care system, insurance companies and pharmaceutical companies, there was no place for certified pure essential oils. Even though they can be so incredibly beneficial to your family’s health and well-being. It was breaking my heart.
So finally, in June 2015, I walked away from my flourishing career in nursing and straight into my home-based essential oil business. And in less than 12 months*, I had completely replaced my full-time nursing income, and have been happily teaching parents and families about the powerful benefits and uses of certified pure essential oils ever since.
What you NEED to know.
